Plumari lodge is situated at the foot of the Magaliesberg Mountains and nestled into an area adorned with natural beauty and a wealth of history.  The rooms are beautifully decorated with antiques from the turn of the centaury, coupled with all the comforts found in the up market lodges of today.  It is situated in a beautiful reserve which boasts having the “big five,” It has its own natural charm and one can enjoy breakfast whilst overlooking a dam where elephant come to drink in the early morning.  Game drives are on offer, both in the morning and the late afternoon.  The ranger’s are friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable. The lodges is active in the preservation of the history of the area and has a significant exhibition which portrays the local history during the Boer war, as well as a substantial exhibition of many of the wagons used in the last 200 years. All this coupled with the most amazing meals produced by Henk, a gourmet chef, who is personally attentive and presents his dishes in a very creative manner. This Lodge has clearly chosen their staff very carefully, as they have combined both the privacy of their guests and the intimacy of this special place and people in an extraordinary way. Plumari Lodge a wonderful weekend retreat and all just a short distance from Johannesburg

Dear Pat
A huge thank you for going above and beyond for our wedding!  the setting at Plumari is breathtaking (DON'T KNOW IF YOU WANT TO PUT THIS PART IN BUT WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT ONE one guest put it, "the website pictures don't do it justice"), making it the most beautiful place to get married. Everything you did from the game drives, to the airport transfers for our international guests, to shuttling everyone back and forth from Warthogs/Plumari, to staying up as late as the last guest, made it such a success.  And the food for the braai, lunch, and wedding reception dinner was absolutely delicious. In short I think that everyone one of our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to.

We really appreciate how the staff accommodated our every need with efficiency and a smile. Plumari is an fabulous place and we look forward to coming back for a stay next year.

Jody and Pete

Pat & Marleen,

Thank you so very much for all your hard work in preparing and planning for our function on Saturday. The venue looked beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was great.
Thank you so much for taking care of everything so well, even the little details like the hot water urns I requested.
You exceeded my expectations and I wouldnt hesitate to use Plumari again!
Thank you,
Tamryn

Hi All,
Thanks chefs for the outstanding food and overall assistance, to Deborah for her valuable input, organizational skills and solid facilitation process, as well as Benjamin for his knowledgeable information on Fauna & Flora and enjoyable game drive. In short a BIG THANK YOU to all the Warthogs/ Plumari staff and to Pat at Head Office for making this such a successful event.
Regards Hennie

Dear Monica, Marleen, Pam & all at Plumari who were involved in our wedding!

I know this is a little late, but better late than never as they say! We just wanted to write & thank you all for making our wedding such a wonderful & special experience. Everyone went out of their way to accommodate us & our (sometimes last minute) requests, and we are truly grateful! All the staff were so friendly & made us feel very welcome & special. And I know Toni, our florist, was very grateful for the help some of the staff gave her with the décor. All were extremely helpful & we were generally very impressed with the service that whole weekend.

Plumari was the absolute perfect venue for us, who both love the bush, and the guests completely loved the venue too! Thanks to Xen for the wonderful meal – there were many compliments on the fish! And thanks Monica for all the help with the planning phase. We’ve had so much great feedback on the wedding, so I think all the guests had a wonderful time. And those guests who stayed at Warthogs also spoke very highly of it.

So thanks again for making our wedding so amazing – we have very fond memories of Plumari & I hope we’ll be back to celebrate some anniversaries in the future! I’m attaching some photos I thought you might like. Just shout if you want any others.

Kind regards,

Mervyn & Tracy Lötter

Hi

Please pass this on. I am writing this on behalf of Ally Urbani, Betty Galloway and Saheera Ameer.  They spent the past week-end at Sunbird and did the ellie experience and game drive at Plumari.  They want to express their heartfelt thanks to Management and all the staff at Plumari for their friendliness, helpfulness and for making them feel absolutely special and ensuring that they had a wonderful, never to be forgotten experience.  Elsie and her husband at Sunbird were treasures, so obliging and ready to assist even to the point of putting on the lights when they saw they were back late from their game drive.  They would not hesitate to recommend Plumari and in fact have already had requests for contact details which they have passed on.  Once again to everyone a HUGE thank you, it is so refreshing to find people like all of you.
Best Regards
Ally, Betty and Saheera

Greetings,
I was a guest at your lodge last February with 2 of my colleagues.  We spent a whole weekend, took the Safari tour and visited the elephants early Saturday morning.  This will be a weekend I will always remember.  It was like entering another world.  Plus the lodging and food were superb.  I have included some photos from our time at your lodge.
Warm regards
Huguette

Dear Pat, Peter, Monica and the team at Plumari,

Scott and I have finally returned from a blissful honeymoon and have crashed back down to earth after months of wedding frenzy! Our guests have not stopped gushing about what a wonderful wedding ours was, and how beautiful and perfect the setting for the wedding was too. When we got engaged 8 months ago, the only thing both Scott and I were sure about is that we wanted the wedding to be an extension of ourselves and the things we enjoy in life …nature, wildlife and birdlife, good od food, family and friends... .
We wanted it to be an “outdoorsy” wedding (obviously taking weather into account) and we hoped to be able to make a weekend of it, so that we could really get time with family and friends, who mean so much to the two of us.  We only hoped, but didn’t really expect, to receive the whole package. We ventured out for a drive one weekend to scout out potential venues, and De Ou Waenhuis was only the second venue we visited.  The second I walked through the archway and into your grounds, I knew that we had found the perfect spot.  Although you had not yet received the first Spring rainfall, your grounds were already beautifully green, with roses just about to bloom. Right from the start, we gained the impression that Plumari is run like a family business, and that every effort would be made to ensure that our wedding would be “managed” like a family event.  Monica went out of her way to accommodate our every wish, including multiple changes to accommodation plans and the hall layout!  Tony really instilled a sense of calm in us, enabling us to enjoy the preparations and build-up to our special day. Our actual wedding day was a dream come true, and I must extend a very special thank you to your whole staff complement for keeping sane around our family members who were clearly not!  A big thank you to Zen and his kitchen staff for allowing Nikki to complete her cake on site, for humouring family and friends with dietary requests for lunch and for running back and forth to my own chalet with food/drinks, etc.  They also deserve a very special thank you for a wonderful dinner the night before the wedding and for a winning menu on the night of the wedding…the food was delicious!  After a late night catering, they still managed to produce a brilliant breakfast the next morning…very good for heavy heads – thanks so much
J. Another thank you must be extended to your fantastic barmen and waiters, who were ever present and yet very inconspicuous.  They remained cheerful despite us keeping them up ‘til the wee hours and kindly locked the hall with all our gifts in, after us.  Many thanks! Scott and I were really glad to have opted to stay on an extra night on our own, and would like to thank Zen for the divine “picnic platter” and Moses for a great game drive – we were lucky to see all except the buffalo.  Thank you to you all, and perhaps we’ll be back next year for our 1st anniversary.
Warm regards,
Scott and Caryn Davies

To all at Plumari
The rest of the conference yesterday was very nice too..yes, lots of headaches and eyes that looked liked roadmaps, or rather liver, needless to tell you ...NO further work got done! lazing around like lizards in the sun on the grass, listening to some music, etc...we really had a marvellous time! The people, the place, the animals, the food, the ambiance; the everything was great great great! Thanks thanks thanks thanks!

Hi
Some time ago you had an insert on Plumari Safari Lodge in The Cradle of Humankind. My daughter and friends spent last week-end at their self-catering accommodation and did the ellie experience and game drive at Plumari and cannot stop singing their praises. They had an unforgetable experience. The management and staff were absolutely wonderful and went out of their way to be accommodating.
Thank you for the recommendation  [ this email to www.joburg.co.za ]

Hello Elsabè, Marilyn and Marie
I would like to express my deepest gratitude to you all for helping make Gill's fortieth the success it was. Thank you for the organisation and friendliness. All our friends, without exception, commented on the warmth and friendliness of you and your staff and the magnificent establishment you have. They also made mention of Ronnie, Sunny and Tony. Please pass on our many thanks to them. - Marie; your rooms are wonderful. Everyone commented on the decor, ambience and character of each room. The way you arranged the dining room for dinner and then cleaned up for breakfast, was simply stunning. - Elsabè; your food and arrangement thereof was absolutely outstanding. You really are a magnificent chef. Everyone gorged themselves silly and THOROUGHLY enjoyed your fare. The advice you gave, and decisions made regarding the menu and flowers were perfect. - Marilyn; your organisation and advise in the early stages of us organising the 'big event', really paid dividends in making the weekend the success it was. Many of our friends took brochures to pass onto their friends, and are themselves thinking of coming back to "Plumari Game Lodge". I know Gill and I will be. "Plumari Game Lodge" will always be viewed by Gill and myself as a "very special place".
Once again - Thank You Regards Stuart Fripp

Dear Marilyn,
Well, where do I start to tell you how much we enjoyed our long week-end at Die Ou Waenhuis!! On arrival we were amazed at the lovely chalets, the gardens, the main buildings, but above all the welcome we received from Marie.  She, and her husband, were the most perfect hosts, and Elsabe and her husband excelled in the kitchen.  We were thoroughly spoilt from the time we arrived until we left (with a send off from Marie and Johann and Ronnie).  We were the only guests in the lodge from Sunday afternoon, so I do realise that we had their full time and attention, but it was wonderful.  The log fires in the chalets and the electric blankets were absolutely fabulous with luxury par excellence.  They all treated my father in a very special way, and even, because it was so cold at night, took his evening meal to the chalet so that he didn't have to go out in the cold to the dining room.  My sister and I had supper in the dining room on the Saturday night, but then thought to ask if we too could have our evening meal, with Dad, in his chalet (also to save the staff from waiting on us in the dining room when it wasn't necessary as we were the only guests).  Elsabe willingly agreed to this, and she and her husband brought the entire meal to us and we sat in front of the fire and thoroughly enjoyed the meals they had prepared.  The lunches were obviously specially prepared for us, and the breakfasts were just what we had ordered.  Ronnie was a star in every sense of the word and deserves the position he holds.
When we heard the hippos in the pool we ran out and there was Ronnie to show us, and we watched as both the hippos climbed out of the water onto the bank, a thrill to see.
We really enjoyed the game drives, especially the one of Monday when Johann especially took my Dad, and ourselves, out on the smoother roads so Dad could also have a bit of a game drive too, there again, going out of his way to please. The entire set up of the lodge is brilliant, and the grounds beautifully kept.  We really felt at home from the minute we arrived and all the staff went out of their way to please us and see to our every need and comfort.
Not in our imagination could we have imagined such a beautiful place, well done to everybody who has had a hand in the development of such a magnificent place.
Sincerely Joan Choate (and I speak for Dad and my sister)

Dear Peter,
Once again I am lost for words in expressing my gratitude for the exceptional service afforded to us during our two-day Workshop.
Please convey our appreciation to the Directors, Managing Agents, Reserve Management and all Staff at Plumari Africa.
Take Care Peter

Dear Marilyn,
Please pass on my sincere thanks to Marie and Sunnyboy, who were great as always.
Tony - a big thank you, we enjoyed a great game drive and he was very informative - it was lovely to share this experience.

Dear Marilyn
Thank you so much for a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Both my husband and myself as well as our little one had a wonderful getaway. The grounds are beautiful and the setting was just perfect to unwind.
I have to make mention of your team of staff, right from the first greeting from Ronnie who took our bags, through to the ladies who cleaned our room, everyone was attentive and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Your are lucky to have such a well organised team.
Regards Therese

Hi Marilyn
Since the wedding I have not had much time to thank you for all your assistance with regards to the wedding. We were very happy with the way things went and are highly appreciative of everything that was done in order to make everything so special. It was a pleasure dealing with you on the admin side.
I want to especially thank Marie who worked tirelessly and never complained. She did everything just the way we requested and much more.
She was always there and were always looking after us as if we were part of her family. She is a real asset to the venue and it would not have been the same without her support and assistance. Please convey our sincerest thanks and appreciation to her.
Regards Lydia Jordaan

Dear Marilyn,
I would like to say thank you very much for organising the visit to Plumari Game Lodge for my partner and I last Friday night.  It was very pleasant and  I was really impressed with the staff - Ronnie and Sonny in particular, who really went out of their way to give excellent service.  The game drive was particularly pleasant and we managed to see a fair bit of game - the hippo pool is a bonus - sitting on the decks overlooking the hippo activities, is wonderful.
Thank you once again for the opportunity to look at this new venue, and I hope it goes from strength to strength.
Regards, Margie

Dear Peter, Marie and Team
